Birthday Fun in Reception!

This week, Reception has been focusing on birthdays, linked to our story Harry and the Dinosaurs Have a Birthday Party. The children have enjoyed talking about birthdays and thinking about what we might need for a birthday party. They practised their writing skills by creating lists of things they might need for a special celebration. The children also enjoyed making birthday cards for their family and friends, using their creativity to decorate and personalise their cards. Outdoors, the children have been developing their fine motor skills through cutting, sticking and wrapping presents. We also practised our squeezing and pressing skills by making juice for the dinosaurs to enjoy at their birthday party! It has been a fun and busy week of learning through play and celebration.
